For those who have caught up with reviews of the PE, they would have found out that PAT could be easily enabled by some sort of a cheat method – normally done at the BIOS level. Just because the motherboard has a ton of features on board doesn’t mean it can’t be expanded either.
Hey, it is a new chipset after all! Without going into all the nitty gritty details, we know for sure that PAT ethenet be enabled in the PE, and when activated, the board will promise users performance equal to most boards based on the more expensive P chipset. If you’re currently working with an iE RDRAM pentium 4 efhernet and long ago made the decision to pass on the DDR-based 8865pe which has been wooing consumers for the last six months, you should still take note.
