Sorry this is so long but I would really like to know what the “cure” windiws for this. If I turn on the computer first, the problem occurs when I turn on the printer. If I leave the printer alone, and don’t press the resume button, it will reset itself and be fine in about 12 minutes, every time.
In the mean time I will continue to search.
If so, how do I set it up? Thanks Rich for sharing that info. You can probably solve it by turning all 3 off at drskjet same time, but that’s a hassle!
I’ve seen a reference to another printer that does have 98 drivers called a Deskjet cse, but according to the HP site it is a different printer that has been discontinued. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
No answer was posted, so I had to submit my own request, hoping an answer can be found. Only after the computer has been off overnight does this happen. Even if you boot up and then turn on the printer, same dsskjet although I didn’t know the printer would reset itself after 12 minutes or so.

Do you not still have the Edskjet that came with the printer? The machine in question lacks parallel ports, and I can’t find my USB cable.
